GedStar Pro for Android

GedStar Pro is an Android app that lets you view all of your genealogy data in detail on your Android smartphone or tablet. A companion Windows program is used to extract and convert the data that is stored in a genealogy program on your PC. The resulting file is then transferred to your device for easy and convenient viewing.

The app runs on almost any standard Android device from version 2 through the latest version 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Specific devices are too numerous to list, but are manufactured by many top-tier suppliers such as Motorola, HTC, Samsung, Asus, etc., and are available from a variety of sources including all of the top telecom providers in the U.S. and worldwide.

Easy to Use

GedStar Pro is a two-part application consisting of a Windows application that is used to convert your data from the genealogy program that you use on your PC, and the Android application that is used to view the data on your handheld device. The steps to viewing your family tree on your smartphone are simply as follows:

• Run GedStar Pro on your PC to convert from your genealogy program or GEDCOM file.
• Copy the converted database to the SD card (or other internal memory storage) on your device using a USB cable, or use the third-party Dropbox service to transfer it wirelessly through the cloud.
• Run GedStar Pro on your Android device to view all your data!
